Product information "Arauner tannin tannic acid 10g"

Tannin as a fining agent (with a negative charge is added when clarification with gelatin is intended, but the juice or must in question itself does not contain sufficient tannin. All details about gelatin fining can be found in the article Antigeliermittel.

Half the intended amount of gelatine is needed, normally about 5g, in cases of low turbidity only 2 to 3g per hectoliter of juice or must. The appropriate amount of tannin is dissolved in about 100g of warmed juice or must and then mixed into the total amount while stirring thoroughly. It is important that the tannin solution is finely distributed in the juice or must. The next day or the day after, gelatinization can follow.
