Thread standards
Since more and more questions are asked about thread sizes on tap equipment, we have created an overview for you here.
In our article descriptions you will also often find the specification of:
AG = external thread
IG = internal thread
Thefollowing applies to beer dispensers :
Beer side ---> 5/8"
Co2 system ---> 3/4"
Furthermore the page gewinde-normen.de shows why a 1" does not have 25,4mm outer diameter.
On this page all thread types are well described:

In the following table we have listed different threads on taps:
Thread size in inch | Outer diameter in mm | Place of use |
1/8" | 9,728 | e.g. pressure indicator on mini pressure reducer |
1/4" | 13,157 | e.g. pressure indicator pressure reducer, screw-in nozzles |
3/8" | 16,662 | e.g. connections to mixer tap, Spülboy, flush pipe |
1/2" | 20,955 | e.g. outlet fitting 7bar pressure reducer |
5/8" | 21,749 | Beer connections to taps, beer coolers, tap heads etc. |
3/4" | 26,441 | Co2 connections to pressure reducers and tap heads / water connections |
7/16" UNF | 11,112 | NC=None Coke, Pepsi Dimension |
1/2" BSF | 12,7 | CC=Coca Cola measure, Premix cooler, Coca connections |
5/8" UNF | 14,50 | UNF= American dimension for water inlet connection on Cornelius Carbonator |
